Diet is an essential part of providing our bodies with the energy we need to work and
exercise, and the nutrients required to repair body tissues.

Eating too little can lead to:
Muscle atrophy
Fatigue
Depression
Dizziness

Eating too much can lead to:
Diabetes
Heart disease
Osteoporosis
Mobility issues

Activity levels?

A

People give different reasons for not exercising or not doing enough exercise! There are
some factors that can make participating in physical activity more difficult such as: location
and travel requirements, lack of access to facilities, cost of classes or equipment and time.

Lack of physical activity can lead to:
Sedentary lifestyle
Obesity
Depression
Heart disease

Work/life/sleep balance?

A

Exercise helps you to sleep better which helps your body to recover. It will help you getting
to sleep once you have gone to bed but also helps you have a deeper, more productive
nights sleep.

Working too hard and and a lack of sleep can cause:

Stress and anxiety
Depression
Poor concentration
High blood pressure

Recreation drugs?

A

Recreation drugs are split into two categories legal and illegal.
Legal drugs include caffeine found in tea, coffee and energy drinks, nicotine from smoking
and ethanol more commonly known as alcohol.

Smoking?

A

However, smoking is highly addictive (due to nicotine - which is a stimulant) which is and within a short space of time people who smoke start to develop cravings for cigarettes and can experience withdrawal symptoms if they go too long without a cigarette.

Alcohol?

A

Alcohol is a depressant it slows your reactions down and alters the way you see, hear, move, and respond to things. A small amount of alcohol can make you feel more relaxed and less anxious. Larger amounts causes greater change in your brain and make you ‘drunk’.
