  • Pivot : Allows rotatory movement of bones around a single axis
  • hinge : Allows flexion and extension of a joint, in only 1 direction
  • ball and socket : Allows backward,forward,sideways and rotating movement
  • condyloid : Allows for flexsion,extension,abduction and adduction
