Where is the deltoid found?
In the upper part of your body covering your shoulders.
Where are the pectoralis majors found?
In the upper part of the chest at the front.
Where is the latissimus dorsi found?
At the back of the body either side of the chest.
Where is the biceps found?
At the top of each arm at the front.
Where are the triceps found?
At the top of each arm at the back.
Where are the external obliques found?
To the side of the abdomen.
Where are the gluteals found?
In the middle of the body at the back, forming the bottom.
Where are the hip flexors found?
Sit deep in the front of the hip and connect the leg .
Where are the quadriceps found?
At the top of each leg at the front.
Where are the hamstrings found?
At the top of each leg at the back.
Where is the gastrocnemius found?
At the bottom of each leg at the back. Also known as the calf muscles.
Where is the tibialis anterior found?
Runs down the shin.
What is the function of the deltoid?
Raise the arms in all directions at the shoulders.
What is the function of the pectoralis major?
Adduct the arm at the shoulder.
What is the function of the latissimus dorsi?
Pull your arms down at the shoulders and behind your back (adduct and extend).
What is the function of the biceps?
Flex the arm at the elbows
What is the function of the triceps?
Extend the arm at the elbow
What is the function of the external obliques?
Pull the chest downwards. Flex and rotate the spinal column.
What is the function of the gluteals?
Adduct and extend the leg at the hips, pull the leg backwards.
What is the function of the hip flexors?
Flex the hip, help the leg and knee up towards the body.
What is the function of the quadriceps?
Extend the leg at the knee.
What is the function of the hamstrings?
Flex the legs at the knees.
What is the function of the gastrocnemius?
Point the toes at the ankle.
What is the function of the tibialis anterior?
Pull the toes up towards the shin
What is the defenition of agonist?
The muscle that contracts.
What is the defenition of antagonist pairs?
Muscles that work together to create a movement.
What muscle pairs with the deltoids?
Pectorals

Biceps

Hamstring
