SFP Flashcards
What are the SFP Pump trips?
- Load Shed
- Load Conservation
- Overload/Overcurrent
If all SFP cooling was lost, how long would it take for the SFP to boil?
- 5.8 hrs with one full core offload
What is the boron concentration suppose to be maintained at in the SFP?
≥ 2400 ppm*
What is the minimum water level allowed in the SFP?
- 23’ above top of fuel (Basis: Iodine removal)
What are the power supplies for the SFP Pumps?
- 11C 12-PP-31N
- 21C 12-PP-31S
How do we keep from inadvertently draining the SFP?
- No gravity drains located less than 19.5” below normal water level
- No inadvertent draining below 629’-4”
(Tech Spec 4.3.2)
What does TS 3.7.14 A (Fuel Storage Pool Water Level) state?
- If Fuel storage pool water level not within limit (>23’)
IMMEDIATELY - Suspend fuel movement
What does TS 3.7.15 A (Fuel Storage Pool Boron Concentration) state?
- IF Fuel storage pool boron not within limit (>2400 ppm)
IMMEDIATELY - Suspend movement of fuel
AND - Initiate action to restore compliance
OR - Initiate action to perform fuel storage pool verification
What is a secondary function of the SFP system?
- clarify and purify the water in the SFP, transfer canal, and purify the RWST
Where do SFP discharge lines terminate and what do they do to prevent siphoning?
- The pump discharge lines terminate no lower than 6’ above the top of the fuel assemblies and have anti-siphon holes located about 4” below normal level.
What happens to SFP Cooling on a Phase ‘A’?
- CCW to the SFP HX Isolates
If U1 is providing cooling to the SFP Hx and has an SI, what happens?
- U2 will take cooling through the South Pump.
When does a RWPP trip?
Load Conservation
Core Alterations are in progress on Unit 2. RCS boron concentration has been verified to be 2360 ppm (two samples analyzed).
The crew is required to …
- suspend core alterations and positive reactivity changes, and initiate boration.
When the fuel transfer canal water is being pumped into the spent fuel pit, how must the flow rate be maintained?
- the flow rate of the water pumped to the CVCS HUT’s must be adjusted to maintain proper level in the spent fuel pit
