MSRs Flashcards
Where does the U1 MSDTs drain to? **
- 5 FW Heaters
Where does the U2 MSDTs drain to? **
- 4 FW Heaters
What is the purpose of the MSRs?
- Mechanically removes moisture from the HP Turbine exhaust
- Reheats dried steam almost to initial live steam temperature by passing it thru a bundle of heating tubes
- Minimizes erosion of LPT components as well as the momentum losses due to excessive moisture *
- Designed to remove > 98% moisture in cold reheat steam
What is the flowpath of steam through the MSRs?
- HPT exhaust steam enters the bottom of the MSRs
- Steam goes thru moisture separators
- Steam exits moisture separators and enters reheater tube bundles
- Exists MSR via 3 leads as superheated steam
Where do the RHCDTs drain to during startup for both units?
- Main Condenser Drip Receivers
Where do the U2 RHCDTs drain to during loaded operations for both units? **
- 6 FW Heaters
Where do the U1 RHCDTs drain to during loaded operations? **
- 6 FW Heaters
Where do the MSR 2nd pass drains for both units go to?
- RCDTs then to 6 FW heaters
Where do the MSR 4th pass drains for both units go to?
- 6 FW heaters
How do the Reheater MRV Steam Supply valves fail on a loss of air for both units?
- Closed
How do the Reheater MRV and MMO Steam Supply valves respond on a turbine trip for both units?
- All steam supplies to MSRs Auto Close on a Turbine Trip
How do DRV-450/460, Downstream Steam Supply Drains respond on a turbine trip?
- Auto Open
U1 HMOs (U1 MSDT Drains to the 5 Heaters and RCDT Drains to 6 heaters) close on what in the associated FW Heater
- high high level
U2 HMOs (U2 MSDTDrains to the 4 heaters) close on what in the associated FW Heater
- High High Level
Do the HMOs (RCDT Drain valves to the 6 heaters) close on a high high level on associated heater?
- Yes, they do
