For any given fire, what are the most fire pumps you should expect to see running?

No, you cannot parallel them due to the two sources being out of phase

Both units are required to close ZMO-10/20 after them being open
What is the TRM limit for gallons in the Fire Water Tanks?
2 Fire Water Tanks with a min of 565,000gal each
What is the TRM for the Diesel FW Pump Fuel oil tanks?
160 gal each for an 8hr operation
Which fans will trip on high temp (400°F) on thermistor string?
AFX
CPR

At what temp does the pre-alarm for the fans with the charcoal bed come in?

Will general aux building elevation area fire detectors open ZMO-10/20?
No they will not open ZMO-10/20. They just send an alarm.
What does the Fire Siren Enable switch do?
It turns the Fire Logic System OFF and allows reset of the alarms after the local Deluge, CO2 or Fire Detection system is reset
What is the Fire System Logic Reset button is used for?
To restore fire system to normal conditions once:
- Fire signals are cleared
- Pumps are stopped locally
- Both Units have to press their own switch at the same time to reset
What TRO 8.7.5 require?
- 3 pumps with 2500gpm capability
- 2 fire water tanks, each with a minimum usable volume of 565,000 gallons
- Intact system
What TRO 8.7.6 A State?
One or more Sprinkler Systems inoperable in areas WITH fire detection
WITHIN 1 hr:
- Verify fire detection instrumentation (electric or pneumatic) for the affected area is OPERABLE.
AND
- Verify that Monitoring Program Action Levels have not been exceeded
What TRO 8.7.6 B State?
One or more Sprinkler Systems inoperable in areas WITHOUT fire detection
WITHIN 1 hr:
- Patrol the affected area with a fire watch.
- Verify that Monitoring Program Action Levels have not been exceeded.
What TRO 8.7.6 C State?
Required Action and associated Completion Time of Condition A or Condition B is not met
WITHIN 1 hr:
- Establish a continuous fire watch patrol of affected area.
What causes the charcoal in the charcoal filters to catch on fire/heat up?
It reacts with the iodine its filtering out

If you manually operate local selector valves, what will that prevent from happening?
Defeats alarms and bypasses all automatic functions until its reset
Is Turbine lagging fire protection automatic?
No, fire has to be locally verified and manually actuated from control room
When does the 17 ton compressor lock out and how is it reset?
Locks out on a load shed and it has to be reset in control room via reset push button
If Halon is actuated at the cylinder manually, will the extended Halon bottles actuate?
No, they will not
If a Diesel fire pump won’t start on the first try, what happens next?
- it will keep trying to start, and Engine locks out if it doesn’t start within 6 cranking cycles. (15-sec ea)
What is the purpose of the INDIVIDUAL ISOLATION SWITCH?
Prevents all auto actuations of CO2 to a protected area
What happens on a temp Pre-alarm in the charcoal bed?
CR gets an alarm and procedure directs opening of FP Isolation vlv
How does the CO2 Selector Valve fail on loss of power?
Fails closed
