Bleed Steam/FW Heater Drains Flashcards
What are the HDP trips? ***
- Extreme Low Level in associated heater
- Turbine Trip
- Overload/Overcurrent
- HMO-564 and HMO-563 fully closed (Middle pump only)
What is required to start the M HDP?
- HMO-564 or HMO-563 required to be full open (interlock)
Why are there check valves in the bleed steam lines? ***
- prevent backflow of steam/water to turbine preventing possible turbine overspeed.
What determines which Heater Lo-Lo level will trip the Middle HDP? ***
- The positions of the Suction Cross-ties determines which heater Lo-Lo Level will trip the M HDP
When do the HDP ELOs open?
- Opens when HDP Discharge flow is < 1250 gpm back to the condensers
How much MFP suction flow are HDPs good for?
- 25%
Does #6 FW Heater have an alternate drain?
- No
Where does the #6 FW Heater receive drains from and where does itself drain to?
- RCDT and HPT
- Drains to:
- # 5 FW Heater
- No ALT Drains
Where does the #5 FW Heater receive drains from and where does itself drain to on U1?
- MSDT, HPT, # 6 Heater
- Drains to:
- HDP suction
- Condenser (Alt)
Where does the #5 FW Heater receive drains from and where does itself drain to on U2?
- HPT, #6 Heater
- Drains to:
- # 4 Heater
- Condenser (Alt)
Where does the #4 Heater receive drains from and where does itself drain to on U1?
- LP Turb
- Drains to:
- # 3 Heater
- (NO Alt Drain)
Where does the #4 Heater receive drains from and where does itself drain to on U2?
- MSDT, HP Turb, #5 Heater
- Drains to:
- HDP
- Condenser (Alt)
What will a high high lvl in any heater cause?
- Isolated heat input to associated heater
What heaters do the HDPs take a suction from on U1?
- N HDP - 5B
- S HDP - 5A
What heaters do the HDPs take a suction from on U2?
- N HDP - 4A
- S HDP - 4B
