Generator H2 Flashcards
1
Q
Where does the Generator Condition Monitor and H2 Purity Monitor get its flow from?
A
- Differential pressure produced by the fans attached to the generator rotor provide the motive force thru the Condition Monitor and the Hydrogen Purity Monitor.
2
Q
How is the H2 purged from the Generator?
A
- CO2 is used
3
Q
When will 12-GSO-251, Bulk H2 Storage Tank Outlet Header Valve, go closed?
A
- Closes on low turbine building header press < 50# which prevents H2 leak to Turbine Building.
4
Q
How do you reset 12-GSO-251, Bulk H2 Storage Tank Outlet Header Valve, after an auto closure?
A
- Push and hold local reset pushbutton until downstream # of GSO-251 builds back up to > 50# in the header
5
Q
What are the Generator H2 coolers cooled by?
A
- TACW
6
Q
What H2 purity does each unit need to maintain?
A
- U1 > 96%
- U2 > 94%
7
Q
What is the Hydrogen flowpath within the Generator?
A
- Fans both ends –> Turbine and colector ends –> along rotor shaft and stator core –> through gaps –> vent holes –> back through center of rotor and stator —> coolers –> back to suction of the fan
8
Q
What does Generator Hydrogen mainly cool?
A
- The Rotor
9
Q
What are normal pressures for Hydrogen Gas in the generator for both units?
A
- U1 75#
- U2 60#
10
Q
How does plant support the generator?
A
- Plant air provides a safe generator atmosphere for maintenance activities
