NESW Flashcards
What are the NESW pump trips?
- Overload
- Overcurrent
- Load Shed (Seq back on)
- Load Conservation (CTS)
What NESW pump autostarts do you get when the switch is in Auto?
- Low Header Pressure 55 psig (60 psig U2) (only when control switch in Auto)
- SI
- Load Shed
Do the NESW pump discharge valves auto open on a manual start signal?
- No, they have no auto features, must be manually opened after pump start
If the NESW pump switch is in auto, how must the discharge valve be arranged?
- It must be open, since it does not auto open on its own when the pump starts.
How soon after a Load Conservation can a NESW pump be restarted and how is it done?
- It can be restarted after 75 secs by taking the pump switch to trip/lockout and back to on/run
What are the NESW pump suction sources?
Both Units:
- CW Intake Tunnel (Normal)
- Discharge Tunnel (Alt)
What are the NESW pump power supplies?
- 11/21C (N NSEW Pump)
- 11/21B (S NESW Pump)
Which NESW header has the glycol loads on it?
- NESW Miscellaneous Header
When does WMO-906 (NESW Misc header supply valve) auto close?
- On a Load Conservation
At what DP do the NESW Duplex strainers auto backwash at?
- 76” H20
When do both units NESW Duplex Strainer backwash alarms come in?
95” H20 - Unit 1
97” H20 - Unit 2
What does T.S. 3.6.3 B (Cnt Isolation Valves) state?
If 2 CIV’s are inop
WITHIN 1 hr:
- Isolate penetration
Which valves isolate on a load shed in the NESW system and why?
L.O. cooler WRV’s close:
- maximizes flow the PAC, CAC, CLVs (If in Open Loop)
- lowers load on EDG by lowering load on NESW
Which unit’s NESW supplies the Seal Oil Coolers?
- Unit 2
Which unit’s NESW supplies the TSC Air conditioning?
- Unit 1
