What is aniscoria?
Uneven pupils
What is clinical impression?
Your initial judgement of what is wrong with the patient
What is chief complain?
A patients perception of what they think is wrong
What is included in a sample history?
- signs and symptoms
- allergies
- medications
- past medical history
- last mea- events preceding injury
How often do you check unstable vitals?
Every 5 minutes
How often do you check a stable patients’ vitals?
Every 15 minutes
What is involved in a neurological exam?
- ## motor or sensory
What is a OPQRST pain assessment?
- Onset (what was happening when the pain started)
-provocation ( does anything make the pain better/worse?) - quality ( get patient to describe pain)
- referral (does the pain move anywhere)
- severity
- timing (what time did the pain start)
What is the next step after it is confirmed that there are markers for multi-system trauma present?
Request ALS
What are the markers for Multi-system trauma?
Systolic BP: <90
Respiratory rate: <10 or >29
Heart rate: 120
AVPU: V/P/U on scale mechanism of injury
What does CSM stand for?
Circulation/sensory/motor
What does BGL stand for?
Blood glucose level
What is normal range BGL
4.0-10.0 mmol/aL
What is tympanic temperature?
37°C in the ear
