Precautions: Use with caution in patients with hepatic disease, severe obesity, electrolyte disturbances, neuromuscular disease, and an altered circulation time caused by cardiovascular disease.

Interactions: Succinylcholine, tetracyclines, verapamil, anticonvulsants, beta-blockers, ketamine may enhance neuromuscular blockade, increasing skeletal muscle relaxation and potentiating the effects Carbamazepine and phenytoin may decrease the effect of rocuronium, may need to increase the dose.

In most patients, tracheal intubation may be performed within 2 minutes; muscle paralysis should last for about 31 minutes.

Note for pediatric patients: tracheal intubation can be performed in about 1 minute and paralysis can last as long as 41 minutes.

Notes: Please ensure adequate support of the airway when giving this drug, both during the administration and for the 30-40 minutes that the paralysis may remain.
