Action
Decreases dromotropy and automaticacity and increases refractory period to suppress ventricular ectopy, decrease myocardial excitability, increases the lengths of the QRS and QT wave
Mild neegative inotropic Properties

Indications
All tachy dysrhythmias including SVT, a-fib, a-flutter, v-tach, v-fib
Procainamide
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, 2nd or 3rd degree blocks, Torsades de Pointes, Brady, Dig Toxicity
Procainamide
Adult Dose:
IV: 100 mg over 5 min
IVPB: 20 mg/min, 17 mg/kg max
Maintenance: 1-4 mg/min

Pedi Dose:
15 mg/kg over 30-60 min

Side Effects
Hypotension, Dizziness, Headache, Heart block, seizures, confusion
