- Sedation prior to rapid sequence intubation or other painful procedures such as cardioversion and pacing

- sedation: 4 mg/kg IM or 2 mg/kg IV
- analgesia: 0.3–0.5 mg/kg IV
- behavior management: 3 mg/kg IM or 1 mg/kg IV
