Personality

Give people a bunch of options to assess their personality. Self-report of what you

Projective tests:
Have something that is ambiguous. Figure out what you see in an ambiguous
image that shows your unconscious.
Behavioral sample:
Take a sample of how you acted in the world.
Psychodynamic Theory:
theories that focus on the unconscious and the importance of childhood
experiences, which shape your personality.
Structural model –ID
pleasure principle. the earliest part of the personality to develop. Supposed to have
drives that are common. selfish animalistic drives. Immediate gratifications of its drives.

Structural model –Superego
Internalized ideas and provides standards for judgment. represents the cultural
rules and ideals we got from society. What culture tells us about the rules for right and
wrong. Thing we should avoid and how we can delay our impulses.
total opposition what does society say people should aact like. Rules about dating your besfreinds partner.
Structural model –Ego
The decision-making part of our personality. Tries to meet the demands of the ID in
a way that will realistically bring pleasure rather than pain. Tries to settle demand among
the id, superego and reality. Executive portion: of our personality. When we Say “I” we mean ego.
Lgocal might say id we cant jump on them right now, but maybe you can find a reason fo rgive this boyfriend you number and later on when the friend is not around maybe you can get what you want, but you should put it off for now. Takung into account both part and reality.
