Infancy
The first year of life
0-2 month activities
Spend most of their time eating or sleeping. Sleep up to 16 hours a day. Unable to tell the difference between anyone. Sucking reflex for feeding
2 of 6 months activities
More active, begin to smile and make eye contact, recognize parents or caregivers.
6 to 12 months
Infants begin to babble father first year, infants can say works. Sit without support, progress to crawling and walking. May cry have separated from parents or caregivers
Toddler
From infancy to about 3 years
12-18 Months
Toddlers begin to walk and explore their environment. Injuries increase in this section of age.
Preschool age
Ages 3 to 6 years
School age
6-12 years
Can think in concrete terms, respond to direct questions, help take care of themselves. Stages about popularity if your pressure.
Adolescents
12-18
Be able to discriminate between right and wrong. Primary and secondary sex characteristics developed. Adolescents are concerned about their bodies a lot and how they look
Pediatric respiratory rates
Infant: 30-60 Toddler- 24-40 Preschool- 22-34 School age- 18-30 Adolescent- 12-20
Pediatric pulse rates
Newborn to 3 months- 85-205
3 months to 2 years- 100-190
2-10 - 60-140
Over 10- 60-100
Fontanelles
Soft spots in the head located on the anterior and posterior portion. It closes for the anterior in 18 months, and 6 months for the posterior
