These products work better when used 15 to 30 minutes before a topical antibiotic (Plumb, 2015).
Corticosteroid Preparations (otic)
These products are used in cases of acute or chronic otitis. They help to reduce the build-up of sebaceous and apocrine gland secretion.

Very few treat bacterial otitis; therefore, the veterinarian may resort to using ophthalmic products or injectable antibiotics directly into the ear canal
