What is the IMBSC code?
The International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargo code is used to facilitate the safe stowage and shipment of solid bulk cargoes.
The code contains practices and procedures for the loading, trimming, carriage and discharge of solid bulk cargo.
What is the IGC code?
The International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquified Gases, applies to all ships, regardless of size, that are engaged in the carriage of liquified gases.
The code prescribes design and construction standards to minimise the risk to the ship, crew and environment involved in the carriage of these products
What is the INF code?
The International code for the Safe Carriage of Packaged Irradiated Nuclear Fuel, Plutonium and High-Level Radioactive Wastes on Board Ships, details the regulations for the design of ships transporting radioactive material.
It includes stability after damage, fire protection and structural resistance and is apart of the supplement book in the IMDG code.
What is the Grain code?
The International code for the Safe Carriage of Grain in Bulk, applies to all ships regardless of size and consists of 2 parts:
- Part A = Specific Requirements
- Part B = Calculation of assumed heeling moments and general assumptions
Every ships loading grain must have a document of authorisation, this is evidence that the ship is compliant with the International Grain code
What is TDC code?
The code of Safe Practice for Ships Carrying Timber Deck Cargoes, is applicable to all ships over 24 metres in length carrying a timber deck cargo.
Also is designed for all stakeholders involved in the preparation, loading and stowing of timber deck cargoes.
What is the BLU code?
The code of Safe Practise for the Safe Loading and Unloading of Bulk Carries, was developed to provide guidance aimed at preventing accidents of loss of ships carrying solid bulk cargoes as a result of improper loading and unloading practices.
It provides guidance for the master, terminal operators and other parties.
What is the Cargo Securing Manual?
The Cargo Securing Manual is required on all types of ship engaged in the carriage of cargoes other than solid and liquid bulk cargoes.
The guidelines ensure that a uniform approach can be adopted in the compilation of the manual.
