What are weekly Notices to Mariners?
A
These are know as NM’s and will be sent to marines weekly as they contain 8 parts of corrections to publications and charts.

What is the Cumulative List of Notices to Mariners?
A
This is a publication which contains all of the corrections for the past 2 years and is issued in two volumes:
- Vol 1 is released in January
- Vol 2 is released in July

You are joining a new vessel, how will you check if the charts are up to date?
A
I would check the relevant volume of the cumulative list of notices to mariners and also check the bottom right side of the chart for updates

What is in the Annual summary of Notices to Mariners?
A
These publication will include:
- Summary of T’s + P’s currently in force from the 1st January
- Summary of corrections to sailing directions in the past 12 months
- Contains additional information related to ships navigation, hydrographic information, Atons and changes in shipping channels
