What are minerals?
Minerals are nutrients which you need to eat several kinds of.
Why is calcium important?
Calcium is found in bones and teeth, so you need to eat plenty of it to make them strong.
What are good sources of calcium?
Foods made from milk(dairy products), seeds and some types of nuts(such as almonds) are great sources of energy.
Why is iron important?
Iron is needed to make haemoglobin, which transports oxygen throughout the body.
What can a deficiency of iron cause?
If you have an iron deficiency, you donโt make enough haemoglobin, so not not enough oxygen is transported around the body, causing an illness called anaemia, which makes a person feel very tired.
What are good sources of iron?
Good sources of iron include meat(especially red meat(, dark green vegetables, many kinds of fish and shellfish and some nuts and seeds.

Water is a nutrient that you need to take every day, as well

Why is water important?
Water in cells allows all the different chemicals inside them to dissolve(acts as a solvent), so that they can react together. Water in blood allows it to flow easily, transporting substances all over the body.
