What do young people need to take in their diet and why?

A

Young people who are still growing need a lot of protein to help make more cells and divide them. If they use up a lot of energy, they need to eat enough carbohydrate to give them plenty of energy. The also need to eat a little bit of fats for energy and making membranes on the new cells

A

People who sit for most of the day don’t use as much energy as someone active, so they need less carbohydrates and fats than someone who moves around or does a lot of sport.

A

A pregnant woman needs to eat plenty of protein to help her growing baby’s new cells, and she needs lots of iron to make haemoglobin in her won blood and her baby’s blood, along with calcium for building her baby’s bones.
