What is a producer/autotroph?
A producer/autotroph is an organism who uses energy from the sun to produce their own food by a process called photosynthesis. They are the first organism in a food chain or web.

A consumer is an organism who has to eat ready-made food as they cannot produce their own food.Animals and all the other organisms in a food chain except producers are consumers. They consume(eat) plants or other animals

A primary consumer is a consumer who is a who eat producers or plants. Primary consumers are also herbivores.

A secondary consumer is an animal who eats primary consumers.
What is a tertiary/apex consumer?
A tertiary consumer is a consumer who eats on secondary consumers. They are also called apex predators and have no natural enemies.
