What are the tests for strength endurance and describe them ?
A
- Abdominal curl test
NCF test which involves performing sit ups in time with the bleep.
Progressive test, continue until failure.
Score is based on the time and completed sit ups - press up test
complete as many press ups possible.
The score is the total number completed.

What are the tests for maximum strength and describe them ?
A
- 1 repetition maximum
Select a piece of gym equipment to test the strength of a specific muscle group.
The score is the highest weight the performer can lift once. - Grip strength dynamometer
3 turns with each hand and records the best score shown on dial.
(dialed back to 0 after each attempt)

What is the test for explosive / elastic strength and describe it ?
A
- vertical jump test
performer marks their maximal standing reach then perform a standing vertical jump to mark their highest jump reach.
The score is the difference between the two marks

What are the advantages of the tests ?
A
- equipment is available and affordable
- standardized tables available
- specific muscle groups can be isolated
- clear procedure gives valid and reliable results

A
- equipment is expensive
- specific muscle groups can not be isolated
- procedure and technique may be open to interpretation may give invalid, unreliable results therefore, risk of injury.
