What are the benefits of massage ?

  • realigns deeper connective tissues
  • reduces muscle pain
  • improves circulation and blood supply to area
  • improves lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling
  • increases range of motion and flexibility
  • breaks down scar tissue
  • increases rate of removal of harmful bi-products

How do you use massage in the inflammatory phase ?

A
  • not advisable first 24 hours (risk of further damage or restarting bleeding)
  • used once inflammatory phase subsided
  • gentle to moderate pressure
