What is this?
* Limits?
Plantigrade/Bear stand
Hamstring/gastroc tightness
What is this?
* Limitations
* Reasons it can be bad
W-Sit
* Pressure on ligaments (can’t unstretch a ligament - not considered functional for adults) - can lead to ACL tears
* normal developmental position for kids (helps develop hip sockets [wolfs law])
* Bad if it is the only position the child sits in (its very stable for the kid so the kid likes it)
* Bad if they can’t get in and out of other positions w/o transfering through W sitting (need to be able to do other positions)
* If they have tone issues than its not great (low tone or high tone)
* If its perfurred position after age 3 were worried (an 8 year old should not live in w sitting)
