A

month 7

17
Q

A
18
Q

At 7 months the baby may attempt to walk with a steppage giat forward in supported standing

What is a steppage gait?

A

Shuffling steps

KNOW: At this time the baby may stand up in the middle of the nightm but they’re unable to lower to sit with control so they just stand there and scream

Q

What is cruising?
* when does it start

A

Side stepping holding onto furniture

KNOW: starts rigid
* Abductors and wobbles
* weight shift to left and abduct right
* not kicking leg up and stepping

Starts at 7 months

20
Q

KNOW: 8 month old hates supine
* once they can get in quadruped / standing sitting, anything that puts them upright

A
21
Q

KNOW: Whenever you’re learning a new skill you start w/ a wide BOS (more stable) then as you get more competent it gets narrower

A
22
Q

When does baby start to use long sitting-experimenting w/ LE positions?
* What is still the most stable sitting position?

A

Month 8 (but most of the sitting positions change later)

Ring sitting remains most stable

Begins to side sit through transitional movements

23
Q

At 8 months they show protective extension at what direction?

A

Forward/lateral

extension comes at 10

24
Q

KNOW: at month 8 pull to stand with increasing use of LE’s however, mostly an UE task
* Symmetrical LE use to pull to stand
* Able to stand w/ single UE support

A
25
Q

KNOW: At 8 months
* Able to stand and walk holding onto someones fingers
* Steppage pattern (shuffle small)
* LE movements on sagittal and frontal plane (kind of go out lateral)

A
26
Q

At what month can babies change their sitting positions?

A

9 months

Ring sit, side sit, long sit, and W-sit

27
Q

When can they pull to stand but not sit down?
