Three P’s for descriving the underlying causes of sleep insufficiency
Risk factors that increase the likelihood that the older adult will experience poor sleep
Predisposing factors
Events that acutely disrupt sleep
Precipitating factors
think waking up and going to bathroom
Behavioral, psychological, environmental, and physiological factors that maintain poor sleep
Prepetuating factors
think caffine intake
lots of transitions happen as an older adult. think stopping working or losing friends
if you have congitive wellness you have self efficiacy (more reiliance, and as an older adult you’re able to age better)
