Single incident may be abuse, most often emotional abuse is a pattern of behavior that causes damage over time

Parent or caregiver does not give the care, supervision, affection and support needed for childs health, safety and well-being
Child neglect
This is what we have in FL. instead of the actaul term elder abuse
The intention use of physical force that results in acute or chronic illness, bodily injury, physical pain, functional impairement, distress or death
Physical abuse
Failure by a caregiver or other responsible persons to protect an elder from harm, or the failure to meet for essential medical care, nutrition, hydration, hygiene, clothing, basic activities of daily living or shelter, which results in a serious risk of compromised health and safety
Neglect
Unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power im balance
* Behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated over time
Bullying
Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems
