KNOW: At month 10 babies injoy in and out games (in bucket, and dump bucket out over and over)
When can baby transition in and out of tall kneeling?
10 months
T for ten
KNOW: May be able to maintain 1/2 kneeling
When can babies start to climb over objects?
10 months
KNOW: At 10 months they might start using half kneel to stand (not just pulling w/ arms)
When does baby begin relase surfaces to stand?
10 months
* Indepdent standing
and can now lower better
KNOW: at 10 months
* may cruise sideways or forward (holding on to furniture)
* May cruise around corners
* May release support surfaces and take steps
at what month can child climb on and off furniture
11 months (key is getting off, at 9 they can get on)
Able to turn once on furniture and sit
KNOW:
* month 11: may begin to attempt rise to standing w/o UE support
How would an 11 month old walk?
High guard
wide BOS
NOTE: that high guard will start to go away, but as they travel on new surfaces / increased stress / people around them they get that high guard back
When does a baby begin to sit in one position to play w/ toys?
Month 12
They love mimicing adult activities (think cooking)
When is a baby able to get into squating to play?
Month 12
NOTE: Baby at 12 months will revert to crawling when they need to get somewhere quickly
When can a baby rise to stand w/o external support?
Month 12
Average age of indepdent walking w/o support?
* textbook average?
8-20
average = 12 months
Aspects of new gait (so whenever they develop this gait [anywhere in that massive range] than this is what well see
* decreased step length
* Higher step frequency/cadence (because they need more steps of the step length is decreased)
* Decreased single limb stance time
* Increased BOS = more stability
* Decreased velocity
