What is LFGA baby?
One that ha an estimated weight greater than 90th centile
Clinically LFGA?
Symphysial fundal height >2cm for gestational age (normally this should be same as gestation +/- 2cm)
Reasons for LGA?
Wrong dates Fetal macrosomnia Polyhydramnios Diabetes Multiple pregnancy
What is foetal macrosomnia?
Big baby
Baby with absolute birth weight of >4000g
Common RFs included for LGA?
Maternal diabetes
Post term pregnancy
Maternal obesity
What is important to exclude in foetal macrosomnia?
Diabetes
If bay is more than ___ do a C section?
5 Kg
What is polyhydramnios?
XS amniotic fluid, amniotic fluid index is >25cm and deepest pool is >8cm
Causes of polyhyramnios?
Maternal diabetes Fetal anomaly (GI atresia, Cardiac tings, tumours, Rh immunization)
Presnetation of polyhydramnios?
Abdo discomfort
Pre-labour rupture of membranes
Preterm labour
Cord prolapse
Signs of Polyhydramnios?
Large for dates
Malpresentation
Shiny tense abdomen
Inability to feel fetal movements
what are the risks of polyhydramnios?
Risk malpresnetation
Risk of cord prolapse
Preterm labour
PPH
Managemnet of Polyhydramnios?
Serial growth scans
Usually induce by 40 weeks assoc to perinatal morbidity
