What is the septum?
A strong muscular wall which divides the heart into left and right
What kind of blood does the left side of the heart contain?
Oxygenated blood
What kind of blood does the right side of the heart contain?
Deoxygenated
What is oxygenated blood?
Blood that contains a high concentration of oxygen and a low concentration of carbon dioxide
What is deoxygenated blood?
Blood that contains a low concentration of oxygen and a high concentration of carbon dioxide
Why can the heart be seen as a double pump?
The blood on the left side never mixes with the blood on the right side
What is each half of the heart divided into?
Two chambers
How many chambers is the human heart divided into in total?

The two upper chambers of the heart
