What is the MCO?

A

The Maintenance Control Officer (MCO) supports the Sector EO by coordinating all maintenance functions and activities conducted throughout the Sector and Sector Field Office (SFO). As such, the MCO must be aware of all scheduled and unscheduled asset maintenance, the sector operations mission schedule, and maintain a sector-wide view of all logistics related activities. The MCO ensures the EO is apprised of any asset status changes that affect the forecasted maintenance agenda. The MCO coordinates with the Centralized Maintenance Manager (CMM) and Asset Material Manager (AMM) to ensure compliance with the Coast Guard (CG) Mission Support Business Model. The Centralized Maintenance Manager (CMM) enters MPC data into the Asset Computerized Maintenance System (ACMS) and prepares management reports. Specifically, the CMM performs data entry, retrieval, and reporting functions and is the ACMS Subject Matter Expert and manager for the Sector and DSF units.
