Colitis
An inflammatory reaction in the colon, often autoimmune or infectious.
Diabetes mellitus
A group of diseases that result in too much sugar in the blood, or high blood glucose.
Most common types:
Type 2 diabetes: A chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar (glucose).
Type 1 diabetes: A chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin.
Prediabetes: A condition in which blood sugar is high, but not high enough to be type 2 diabetes.
Gestational diabetes: A form of high blood sugar affecting pregnant women.
Diaphoresis
sweating, especially to an unusual degree as a symptom of disease or a side effect of a drug
Enteritis
inflammation of the intestine, especially the small intestine, usually accompanied by diarrhea
Erythematous
Redness of the skin or mucous membranes, caused by hyperemia of superficial capillaries. It occurs with any skin injury, infection, or inflammation.
histiocytoma
benign skin tumor that originates in the Langerhans cells, immune cells that function to provide protective immunity to the tissues that are in contact with the outer environment – the nose, stomach, intestines and lungs, but mainly the skin’s surface.
Macules
a distinct spot, such as a discolored spot on the skin.
an oval yellowish area surrounding the fovea near the center of the retina in the eye. It is the region of greatest visual acuity.
Papules
small, raised, solid pimple or swelling, often forming part of a rash on the skin and typically inflamed but not producing pus.
Pruritus
severe itching of the skin, as a symptom of various ailments.
Psoriasis
A skin disease marked by red, itchy, scaly patches.
Sclerosed
an induration or hardening, especially of a part from inflammation, or in disease of the interstitial substance. The term is used chiefly for such a hardening of the nervous system due to hyperplasia of the connective tissue or for hardening of the blood vessels
Syncope
temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure (fainting)
Vulgaris
Being of the usual type; common.
Bartholin Gland
aka “greater vestibular glands” Two pea sized compound racemose glands located slightly posterior and to the left and right of the opening of the vagina. They secrete mucus to lubricate the vagina and are homologous to bulbourethral glands in males.
