Granulation tissue mechanism

A
  1. Angiogenesis (capillaries grow into inflammatory mass)
  2. Fibroblasts lay down collagen to repair damaged tissue
  3. Collagen replaces inflammatory exudate
  4. Macrophages phagocytose old tissue
  5. New connective tissue replaces dead or necrotic tissue
  6. Contracts and pull together
