- Seizures
- Worsening of existing medical condition
- Severe weakness or myalgia

A
- Fast breathing
- Not eating
- Not peeing
- Irritable
- Pale, gray, blue colored skin or lips
- Chest pain
- Dehydration
a. Tenting skin turgor
b. Sunken fontanelles
c. Sunken eyes - Severe myalgia
- Seizures
- Worsening of existing medical condition

Causes
A
- Cells lining the nose, throat, & lungs are
infected - Touching contaminated surface then
the eyes, nose, & mouth

Risk factors
A
- Ages (<2 y.o & >65 y.o)
- Living or working condition
- Weakened immune system
- Chronic illness
- Race (American Indians/Alaskans)
- Aspirin use- below 19 y.o.
a. weakens immune system - Pregnancy
- Obesity

Prevention & control
A
- Seasonal flue vaxx
- Handwashing for atleast 20-30 secs. Use
alcohol-based sanitizer that has ≥60 %
alcohol content - Proper cough & sneezing etiquette
- Avoid touching (eyes, nose, & mouth)
- Clean & disinfect surface regularly
- Avoid ppl who are sick or who have
symptoms of flu

Complications
A
- Pneumonia
- Neurological symptoms
a. Confusion to seizures
i. Due to interruption of oxygenation
ii. Thereby causing brain damage - Bronchitis & RF
- Muscle tenderness
- Bacterial infections
- Worsening M.C. (heart disease & asthma)
