16
Q

Cardiovascular system

A

Heart and closed system of arteries, veins, and capillaries. Blood pumped through closed circuit through the body. Primary function of transportation. O2, CO2, nutrients, hormones, and waste

17
Q

Lymphatic system

A

Lymph nodes, tonsils, thymus gland, spleen and lymphatic vessels. Filter and trap invaders and debris. Play a role in immunity. Doesn’t circulate constantly.

18
Q

Lymph

A

Watery fluid that contains lymphocytes, proteins and some fatty molecules. No red blood cells. Enter cardiovascular system through ducts.

19
Q

Immune system

A

Body’s defense system. Protects from disease causing microbes, toxins, transplanted tissue cells, and our own cells that have turned malignant. Composed of protective cells and defense proteins.

20
Q

Respiratory system

A

Facilitate movement of air. Warm and humidify air. Traps irritants.

21
Q

Alveoli

A

Exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide.

22
Q

Digestive system.

A

Proper digestion and absorption of nutrients and elimination of waste. Primary and secondary organs.

23
Q

Primary digestive organs.

A

Mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, rectum and anal canal.

24
Q

Accessory digestive organs

A

Teeth, salivary glands, tongue, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and appendix.

25
Q

Urinary system

A

Clear the blood of waste. Maintain water, acid and electrolyte balance.

26
Q

Reproductive system.

A

Reproduction.
