Cell Receptors Flashcards
Ion channel receptors
ACh
Tyrosine Kinase
Ras-MAP (growth factor): Grb2, SOS, Ras, Raf
Akt (insulin): IRS, Grb2m PIP, PI3 kinase
JAKSTAT
(cytokines): Jak, Stat
serine threonine
(TGF beta): type II receptor, type I receptor, R-Smad, Co smad
GPCR
Hetertrimeric: alpha, beta and gamma, adenylyl cyclase, cAMP, cAMP phosphodiesterase
alpha s: stimulates adenylyl cyclase
alpha i: inhibits
alpha q: activates phopholipase c
Guanylyl cyclase
membrane bound: cGMP and protein kinase G
inreacellular: NO
angina, heart failure, erectile dysfunction
Myasthenia Gravis
patient develops antibodies against Ach receptors, decreased signal transmission
muslce weakness, difficulty chewing/swallowing, double vision
Cholera
toxin targets Gs, cannot hydrolyze, will always be active, increase cAMP, death by dehydration
Whooping cough
targets Gi, cannot inhibit adenylyl cyclase, increase cAMP, accumulation of fluid in lungs
