A

Stream of sounds presented to both ears. Need to attend to one and report the deviating stimuli.

Q

Results

A

P20-50 effects of attention are seen. This is when info arrives at the primary auditive cortex (measured with EEG)

N1 effects of attention are seen when entire primary audit is engaged 100 ms after target onset

Deviant stimuli in the unattended ear are filtered out (early seleciton)

Q

Attention

A

Has no influence on auditory processing in subcorticle structures. P300 is only enhanced for the attending ear.

Q

Mismatch negativity

A

Negativity produced 150-200 ms after occurance with deviant stimuli. It’s seen in both ears but amplified in attending.

Q

Spatial visual attention

A

Attention to a location increases activity in the contralateral hemisphere. Upper field activates ventral parts and lower the dorsal. So it’s crossed. If attention is devided between two areas, the visual cortex is activated in two areas.
