Trapezius Upper Fibers Palpation
- Prone
- Grasp the superficial tissue on the top the shoulder and follow the fibers superiorly toward the occiput
Trapezius Middle Fibers Palpation
- Prone
- Slide medially from the spine of the scapula onto the trapezius
Trapezius Lower Fibers Palpation
- Prone
- Push fingers along the line from the spine of the scapula to T12
Rhomboids Palpation
- Prone
- Strum vertically across medial border of scapula to spinous processes C7 to T5
Levator Scapula Palpation
- Prone
- Strum across superior angle and upper region of medial border of the scapula to transverse processes of the C1 to C4
Serratus Anterior Palpation
- Supine; Arm Abducted
- Place finger pads along the side of ribs 1 to 8/9 and strum across
Pectoralis Minor Palpation
- Supine; Arm Abducted
- Slide under pectoralis major and follow from the coracoid process to ribs 3, 4, 5
