Feeds medial surface of frontal and parietal lobe
Weakness of opposite leg and shoulder
What would an infarction of the PCA result in?
Feeds occipital lobe, temporal lobe, thalamus and hippocampus
Achromotapsia, Akinetopsia, Memory
What would an infarction of MCA result in?
Feeds frontal lobe, lateral surface of temporal and parental lobe, internal capsule and putamen
Weakness in hand, arm and face,
Aphasia - language impaired
Neglect
What is blindsight?
A person can judge orientation, colour of lines of objects he can’t see - without activation of primary visual cortex
What is visual object agnosia?
Inability to recognise objects by vision, with preserved ability to recognise them by other senses
What is prosopagnosia?
Prosopagnosia: inability to recognise faces (lower temporal lobe damage)
