A public transportation business, line or system which moves persons or goods from place to place. Fro the purpose of these regulations, this does not include a funeral director’s hearse or vehicle.
Common Carrier
A lifeless human body or parts of such body or bones thereof from the condition of which it reasonably may be concluded that death has occurred. This term does not apply to amputated parts.
Dead Body
Registration of a birth at or after age seven.
Delayed Birth Registration.
Death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of human conception, irrespective o the duration of pregnancy; the death is indicated by the fact that after such separation, the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord,or definite movement of voluntary muscles.
Fetal Death
The presentation of a certificate, report, or other record of a birth, death, fetal death, adoption, marriage, or divorce for registration by the Secretary.
Filing
The burial, interment, cremation or other disposition of a dead body or fetus.
Final Disposition
Any establishment, public or private, which provides in-patient medical, surgical or diagnostic care or treatment, or nursing, custodial or domiciliary care to two or more unrelated individuals, or to which persons are committed by law.
Institution
The complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of human conception irrespective of the period of gestation, which, after such separation, breathes or shows any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscle, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or the placenta is attached.
Live Birth
A person authorized or licensed to practice medicine in this State.
Physician
The acceptance by the Secretary and the incorporation in its official records of certificates, reports, or other records of births, deaths, fetal deaths, adoptions, marriages or divorces.
Registration
The Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Secretary
Records of birth, death, fetal death, marriage, divorce, adoptions, and adjudication of paternity by law to be registered with the Secretary.
