Q

systematic desensitisation

A

Q

steps in systematic desensitisation

A
  1. learn relaxation technique - decrease physiological symptoms
  2. phobic stimulus is broken down into a list from least anxiety producing, to most anxiety producing (fear hierarchy)
  3. pairing phobic stimulus with relaxation technique and gradually working way up hierarchy. can not move on until relaxed at that level
