Ischemic Stroke
80% of strokes
caused by a thrombus, blood clot formed within the cerebral artery.
produces cerebral edema and puts further strain on the vessels again.
Transient Ischemic Attack
“mini - stroke”
temperature interruption of blood flow either by emboli, hypertension.
clinical signs will disappear within 24 hours.
warning sign for something more severe either from a stroke or myocardial infarction.
hemorrhagic stroke
rupturing of vessel within the brain.
caused by cerbral aneurysms due to congenital abnormality or cardiovascular disease.
What are subarachnoid hemorrhage?
are bleeds that occur within the subarachnoid space in the brain and are common due to primary vessel disease.
