How do you evacuate from a train to trackside?
A
- Use Detrainment ladder safely
- Use Crew Access Door preferably
- Place ladder in the centre of doors and operate CAD handle
On B92 doors will close and hold ladder in place
On B2007 you will need assistance to hold doors against the ladder
- Ensure ladder diagonal to train, both feet on ground
- Once in place, one staff at the top and one at the bottom for safety and count passengers coming off

- Ladder flush with end train
- Ladders’ feet on ballast for safety

What must you not do if you’re evacuating near national rail tracks?
A
You must ensure passengers do not go on their tracks, nor should you as you are not PTS trained

A
- Open CAD, place Detrainment board in the centre
- Operate handle to close doors (for B2007 you will need assistance to holds doors together)
- One at a time cross to other train and count passengers
