What checks should you do before leaving booking on?
- All equipment issued working
- Check vehicle numbers, location, radio number and logged in notebook
What should you do before entering depot?
Carry out radio check with DC and confirm vehicle numbers and location
NAME THE LOCATIONS FOR RADIO CHECKS AT:
- BED
- POD
1.Outside booking on room
- Outside Hilton Building
Where should PRE-SERVICE CHECK be started?
Always at the end furthest from the direction of travel
What things should you check at TRAILING, FRONT AND SIDE OF A TRAIN?
- Check destination display is working
- Make sure no windows are damaged or smashed
- Tail lights working (at least one)
- No personnel working around vehicle
- No targets attached to vehicle
- No graffiti on the train
- Ensure vehicle are coupled
Where can’t FRONT END CHECKS not be done at?
At POD on DJ and DK on a 3 car train
NARRATE INITIAL LEADING EDP CHECKS
- Select E/S
- Clear INHIBIT
- Check PA Handset
- Press TEST LAMPS
- Test Horn
DESCRIBE STATIC AND ROLLING BRAKE TEST
- In E/S move Joystick to COAST
- Watch BRAKE OFF lamp illuminate
- Drop Joystick
- Press Emergency button
- Observe Inhibit, Start Button and BRAKE ON LAMP illuminate
- Release emergency stop button
- Observe INHIBIT, START BUTTON AND BRAKE ON LIGHT EXTINGUISH
- In E/S sound horn
- Move joystick to power
- Move train forward 1 metre
- Drop joystick
- Ensure train vehicle stops
- Depress REVERSE and lift joystick to COAST
- Ensure REVERSE WARBLE sounds
- Wait 5 seconds
- Reverse half the distance you move forward
- Drop Joystic
- Ensure vehicle stops
NARRATE END DOOR CHECKS
- Remove key from E/S
- Open END DOOR
- Re-select E/S
- Ensure INHIBIT does not clear
- Look outside train and check headlights are illuminated (at least one)
- Check amber E/S lights are flashing
- Close end door - ensure lock engages
- Ensure INHIBIT does not clear automatically
What additional procedure must you do on B2007?
whilst in E/S carry out a VCTU RESET (only 1 required)
NARRATE WALK THROUGH CHECKS
- Ensure all seats are not damaged
- Ensure floor areas are clean and not slippery
- Ensure internal destination displays are working
- Check all cupboards and panels are secure and closed
- Open passenger doors platform and non platform side
- Ensure no graffiti or etchings
- Check draught screens are not clipped or damage
