What does LIMITED CLEARANCE mean?
Less than 2m, with no position of safety for the entire length of the adjacent structure
What does NO CLEARANCE mean?
No position of safety, use restricted area procedure
Where are DEPOT STOP BOARDS located?
Located adjacent the shed aprons.

What is the definition of TRACKSIDE?
Within 2 metres of any rail used for train movements (mainline, including CDR) unless separated by physical barrier

When are you NOT TRACKSIDE but under depot restrictions?
Entering berth road areas at Beckton and Poplar depots
Beyond barriers adjacent to shed roads

How should you cross tracks mainline?
- Ballast to ballast
- Use Conductor gap section
- Avoid crossing at points and where visibility is restricted
- Ideally subway, barrow crossing, footbridge
What should you do in the depot if a train is about to move or approach you?
- Move to a position of safety
- When facing the train acknowledge by raising one arm
How should cross tracks in the DEPOT?
Use barrow crossing

- They identify the status of traction power between two sections of the track
- FIXED TRACKSIDE (SQUARE) and PORTABLE TRACKSIDE (CIRCLE)
What do the following aspects indicate on a FIXED TRACKSIDE INDICATOR:
- RED
2.AMBER - NO ASPECT
- Power is off beyond it and there may be personnel or equipment trackside
- Power is on beyond it
- Power is off both sides
