- Headache
- Nausea & vomiting
- Paralysis or weakness to one side of the body
- Facial drooping
- Decreased LOC
- Numbness, tingling, or loss of sensation in hand, arm, leg, or face all on the same side of the body
- Vision disturbances
- Eye gaze - One eye wanders toward the side with the brain clot or bleed
- Ataxia - loss of coordination
- Could have light sensitivity
Can you give a fibrinolytic drug to a pt with a hemorrhagic stroke?

No, because it will increase bleeding in the brain

Define
Stroke like symptoms that resole spontaneously within 24 hours
* Is a precurser to a stroke

Define
Can’t form or comprehend words at all
Expressive aphasia
Define
The patient can comprehend your words, knows what to say, but cant form the right response
* Will have speech but it might be slurred or not make sense at all
Receptive aphasia
Define
Patient responds fluently but with words that do not match what was asked or told
Ataxia
Define
Loss of coordination
