Hyphema
Define
A
- A pear or irregular shaped eye ball and blood in the anterior chamber of the eye
Associated with globe injuries

Photophobia
Define
A
- Sensitivity to light
- Associate with corneal injury

when do you remove contact lenses

A
- They have a chemical burn to the eye
- The pt is unresponsive and is wearing hard contact lenses and transport time is lengthy or delayed

A
- the eye ball is injured other than chemical burns
- Transport time is short enough for the ed to remove it

What to you do with an avulsed tooth?
A
- RInse it off with saline
- put in a cup with saline or wrapped in wet gauze
- Never handle the tooth by the root
- If you cant find the tooth assume its been swallowed or aspirtated
- Control bleeding from tooth socket with gauze
