- Women who are competitive are not feminine
- Women who train hard look like men
- lack the strength to do the same range of sports as man
- their role is to look after the children and do not have time to partake in sport

Why may ethnicity affect the amount of people partaking in sport?
A
- clothes = restrict movement eg. Burka
- stereotypes = Black Caribbean or African groups are better at sprinting than swimming
- festivals = such as Ramadan in Islam, could be harmful to there health
- ethnic background = cricket is very popular among Asian countries so they may not try and take part in other sports

- safety = Touch rugby is safer for younger players than contact
- transport = Younger participants cannot drive themselves to venues
- age groups = certain clubs may not have certain age categories
