Q

What is an Antagonistic pair?

A

Muscles that work together to create a movement, this happens when a muscle contracts and pulls a bone, it can produce movement in one direction. However muscles cannot push

Q

What are fast twitch muscle fibres?

A
  • Can be broken down into two types
17
Q

What is Type 2a muscle fibre?

A

Fast twitch- used in anaerobic work which can be improved through high intensity interval training. Increasing their resistance to fatigue

18
Q

What is Type 2x muscle fibre?

A

Fast twitch- used in highly explosive anaerobic work that can generate more power that other muscle fibres but fatigue very quickly
