Agility
Ability to change position and control the body at speed
E.g - A rugby player needs agility when running to get a try because he needs to be able to control his body at speed when dodging a tackle
Balance
Bieng able to keep the body stable while at rest or on the move
What are the 2 types of balance
Static balance - keeping body still while stationary -e.ghandstand
Dynamic balance - keeping body still while moving
Co-ordination
The ability to use two or more body parts together
Power
The ability to undertake strength performance quickly.
Power is also known as
Strength x speed
Reaction time
The time between a stimulus and the response
Speed
The rate at which an individual can cover a distance
Athlete that needs agility
Rugby winger- dodging tackles
Athlete that needs reaction time
Sprinting-time between the gun fired and athlete beggining to run
Athlete that needs balance
Gymnastics-holding a handstand
Athlete who needs speed?
